Michael is from Clarks Summit, PA, a town just outside of Scranton. He has been a Penn State student for 8+ years, having earned his B.S. in chemical engineering in 2013 and is now pursuing a PhD in the same field. He has only been playing organized volleyball for two years now, but plays in this league, the Centre County Parks and Recreation (CRPR) league, as well as pick-up at Penn State’s Intramural Building.
Kristen is from Boston, Massachusetts and has been living in State College for 3 years. She has also been playing volleyball in State College with a few different leagues for those three years and has loved the experience. It’s great to be in such an enthusiastic volleyball community and it’s awesome watching the Penn State women’s team play. When she is not playing volleyball, she is binge-watching Netflix or playing with her greyhound rescue, Brady.
Andrew has been involved with volleyball for most of his adult life as a player, coach, and now commissioner. It is his goal to build and promote volleyball culture throughout Happy Valley. He currently coaches Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy’s girls’ volleyball team. The opportunity to foster a passion for volleyball in others has been challenging and rewarding for Andrew, and he looks forward to the challenges to come.
